Actor Paul Glaser files for divorce

LOS ANGELES — Actor-director Paul Glaser, former co-star of "Starsky & Hutch," has filed for divorce from his wife.

Glaser cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for ending his 10-year marriage to Tracy Barone Glaser, according to court papers filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

He was seeking joint legal and physical custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Zoe.

Glaser is the widower of Elizabeth Glaser, who was infected with HIV through a blood transfusion and unknowingly passed it on to their daughter and son.

After the couple lost their daughter Ariel to AIDS in 1988, Elizabeth Glaser helped create a foundation that focuses on preventing the spread of HIV to children.

She died in 1994 and the couple's son, Jake, "is now a healthy young adult," according to the Web site of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, where Paul Glaser serves as an honorary board chairman.
