Updated New Jersey divorce guide available

Legal Services of New Jersey has updated its publication “Divorce in New Jersey: A Self-Help guide.”

“Most people confronting a divorce need an attorney,” Melville Miller Jr., LSNJ president said. “Low-income people who cannot afford a lawyer can turn to Legal Services for help, but with current funding, Legal Services is only able to serve an estimated one-fifth of all eligible clients with civil legal problems. This manual will be a great help to many of those we can't serve.”

The 270-page manual includes forms and sample letters. It explains how to file for divorce in New Jersey based on separation, desertion or extreme cruelty. It also includes instructions for the no-fault divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.
